Gas & Charcoal Grills
When it comes to outdoor grills, do you prefer gas or charcoal? Many people have strong opinions about this topic. Charcoal grilling is more traditional, and imparts a smoky flavor to the meat or whatever else you’re cooking. If you want to recreate the experience of cooking over a campfire, and you don’t mind waiting for the coals to heat up, charcoal is for you. Other advantages of charcoal grills are that they tend to cost less and they’re typically lighter and easier to move than gas grills.
Many people find gas grilling to be more practical because all you have to do is turn on the grill. As long as you have propane in the tank, you can heat the grill in a matter of minutes. If you have a large quantify of food to grill, gas is a great option because you can simply keep the gas running (as opposed to charcoal, which stays hot for a limited period of time). Gas grills are also a bit easier to clean than charcoal grills. And, if smoky flavor isn’t important to you, gas may be your best bet.
Portable grills have many benefits. If you have a smaller space like a balcony in an apartment, a portable grill might be just the thing. Or, if you like to take your grill to events like tailgating parties or picnics in the park, consider a portable grill. Portable grills are also easy to store when they’re not in use.
Grilling Tools & Accessories
Once you’ve decided what type of grill to get, take a look at the selection of grilling tools and accessories. The basics include tongs, spatulas, basting brushes, and cleaning accessories. You may also want a tray for grilling items like vegetable or fish. When the season is over or your grill isn’t in use, consider a grill cover. No matter which outdoor cooking tools you choose, you’re sure to have a delicious season of grilling, smoking and frying outdoors.
