When Was White-Out Correction Fluid Invented?
Wite-Out Correction Fluid was first invented in 1956 by Bette Nesmith Graham. If her name sounds familiar, it might be because she is the mother of famous musician and member of The Monkees, Michael Nesmith. Bette Nesmith Graham spent her days working as a typist, and she constantly encountered petty mistakes that made her have to throw out her paper and type an entirely new document. Nesmith began experimenting in her home kitchen and eventually derived a formula that allowed her to "white-out" any errors on her typed documents and re-type over said errors. Nesmith started handing out bottles of her formula to friends and coworkers. Soon enough, Nesmith had a business on her hands and a highly marketable product. Although typewriters have gone to the wayside due to modern technology, white-out correction fluid is still as convenient as ever before.
